Exhibits in Florence: Galileo's telescope. The tool that changed the world
The Florence Institute of Science History hosts an exhibit on the genius of Galileo. Galileo's telescope. The tool that changed the world, is the name of the exhibit on display from March 4 - December 31, 2008.
The exhibit was conceived while planning the celebrations for the four hundredth anniversary of scientist Galileo Galilei celestial discoveries, anticipating the 2009 events. In five different sections, the tools owned and used by the great Galileo are on display along with the scientist's authentic manuscripts.
Interactive and multimedia exhibits immerse visitors in Galilei's world. To reiterate the exhibit's theme, the scientist's tools are accompanied by the stages and changes in lens and mirror production, ending with the creation of eyeglasses and dark rooms.
